How to buy, forward, and mask your domain.

In this video you will discover how to buy a domain name, and then how to forward or mask a domain name. First of all, you need to know what a domain name is. A domain name is another name for a URL, or a website address.

To buy a new domain name, just google “buy domain name” and you will see many different websites where you can buy a domain name. i personally like to use http://www.godaddy.com They have reasonable prices and the support is fantastic.

Normally the best domain name to have is a .com but you can have a .net or .biz or whatever else you like. .com is most popular because everybody knows and remembers that.

As you know, when you are promoting an affiliate link, they are usually very long, have many strange characters and numbers in them, and they just look ugly.

So this is what an ugly affiliate link looks like (http://www.yourcompanyname.com/p873u/yourusername/id=984736)

As you can see it is very long, and would be impossible to give to somebody and expect them to remember it all. So you can buy a domain name like www.iSignMyPaycheck.com and then forward or mask the domain to go to the long affiliate link.

When somebody clicks on your new domain name, it will automatically go over to your existing affiliate link. So even though you type the new domain name in the search bar, when it goes over to the actual website, you will still see the long affiliate link. This is called domain name forwarding. You just forward the new domain name to the long link.

When you “forward” a domain name you will still be able to see the long affiliate link in the search bar, so even though the person types your new domain name in the bar (www.iSignMyPaycheck.com) they will still see the long affiliate link.

However, when you “mask” the affiliate link, you will only see the new domain name in the search bar. So when you type you new domain name in the search bar, and it goes over to the website, you will only see the new domain name. The long affiliate link won’t be seen at all. This looks much cleaner and professional.

Also, when you move around to different pages within your website, the new domain name will stay in the search bar for every page. You will no longer see your long, ugly, affiliate link.
